I’m using a 500 GB My Passport drive. Every time I plug it into my computer (running Windows 7), I get a prompt asking me “Do you want to scan and fix BackupFiles (J:)”. The first couple of times I got this issue, I did scan and fix. No issues were found. Now when I disconnect this external drive, I make sure that I safely disconnect the drive from the system tray, yet this prompt still pops up every time the drive is reconnected. I also ran chkdsk /f in the command prompt to make sure again that there were no errors on the drive.
The only other devices I connect this drive to are my WD TV Live device and my XBox 360. Not sure why I keep getting this prompt. Any ideas?
