40 second start-up??

Hi there, 

Why is my new Sansa Clip Zip taking sooooo long to start up?   I’ve timed it at 40 seconds to start up (shutting down takes a long time too, but that’s not quite so annoying).   

I’ve used the Sansa Updater to check that the firmware is up to date.  It is - its operating on V01.01.20A.

Ok, so i’ve been working on this problem since I since I posted the above proble and I’ve come up with a solution that has cut my start up time from 40 seconds to less than 3 seconds.   The solution:  install Rockbox.   Hope that helps anyone else with the same problem.

That is merely a work-around, not a solution.

The key to a ‘solution’ would be to examine your files and/or ID3 tags. That would be the most logical explanation of why it takes so long to start up.

I see around 10 secs, this is slower than the clip+.
