Just purchased a 2tb My Passport for Mac.

My wife’s iMac (desktop, Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8) does not recognize the external drive.

I am getting frustrated - I do not want to install any Firmware update due to the tedious chore of backing up the current data in my wife’s Mac then disabling antivirus and then installing this firmware.

Any advice? Appreciate the help, otherwise I will return this external drive and get another brand instead…

Hello, be sure to connect the Passport directly to the Mac, avoid using USB extension cables or USB hubs.
