Nevermind the fact that I neglected to back up my data because I -assumed- it would be an innocuous procedure. Regardless, I have a bunch of data on the drive and want to recover it. What I did was remove the drive from the enclosure in order to put it as an internal hard drive. I assumed nothing would happen, lo and behold Windows Disk Management says its all unallocated. What could’ve caused this and how do I fix it?
Well, that doesn’t sound good. the drive didn’t come with any smartware that I am aware of but it might’ve been background stuff. Either way, encrypted sounds the most plausible/likely. Any way to undo that? Or is the data essentially lost for good.
Like Majora, I removed the external hard drive from the case and I’m using a hard drive docking station connected to my laptop to extract the data I want from it. Problem is the data is encrypted, and idea on how to undo the encryption so I can access the data?
