16G expansion card reads as 8G when plugged in to Rhapsody

Just got a 16G expansion card for my b-day. Plugged it in to my 8G Fuze. Problem is that when I open Rhapsody it shows an 8G Internal Memory and an 8G External memory. The tech specs don’t mention a limit to the expandability of the device. Is there some sort of update I need to install for it to read all 16Gs? Or will it only read 8G of additional memory?

Interesting issue.  I haven’t tried a card over 8GB with the Rhapsody client.

Turn on your Fuze, and go to Settings > System Settings > Info.  Does it show a 16GB (it will read slightly less) card in the expansion port?

It is very important, for those who are reaching for the stratosphere in terms of capacity, to have the latest firmware installed, and to format the device using the Fuze’s built-in Format command to optimize the database for the increased file capacity.  Note: it will erase the music from your internal memory, and this will need to be reloaded, but this need only be done once.

As for the Rhapsody 4 client, be sure to have the latest, go to Help > Check For Updates.
