128 GB microSDXC UHS-I unwritable after 2 months

I am using the microSDXC UHS-I in a RaspBerry Pi 4 booting Manjaro Linux.
All was fine until recently when the boot process hung in the startup/splash screen.
I tried re-writing the disk using the “dd” utility, but the original files remained.
Experimented a bit, but it seems that while the card is readable, is is write protected.
How do I disengage the write-protect??

Thanks much,
-KenD

Hi @KenDickey,

Write protection happens to prevent data loss from a potential fault. We recommend to backup your data immediately.

NOTE: If using a company computer, ensure your IT department does not block saving files to removable cards.
