Please Sandisk - add these functions

I applaud Sandisk for the recent changes to

firmware of my Fuze.   It shows that Sandisk

is aware of  what customer’s needs are and

willing to keep it’s customers satisfied.

Here are a couple of small requests.  One is

Specifically for the Fuze, the other one is a

general request – perhaps for the “Fuze2”

  1. Alarm function.   I have a Cowon G3 that is over 3 years old

that has this function.  It also has the “sleep” function recently

added to the Fuze.   I am able to select Alarm: on/off, then

either radio or music, then wake time- and how long the device

will play, and also a one-time alarm or every day.  THIS WORKS

GREAT – and one of my favorite features of this great little player.

This should not be difficult at all to implement.  At most only a

few hours programming to the next firmware release.

  1. User replaceable battery - It would be greatly beneficial to be able to

have a user replaceable battery.   What are my reasonable options

now when the internal battery fails?   Either send it in – or throw it

      away and into the landfills.

Implementation:   Use an integrated battery something similar

to the way batteries are added to notebook computers.   a very

small battery simply snaps onto the back of the player and completes

the case of the player.  When a battery is dead, it would be a 15

second procedure to remove one battery and replace it with another one.

Surely this would not add all that much to the size or weight if done in

this manner.

THANKS !!!

============

OK, while I’m asking –

how about playing standard FLV’s from YouTube

            wifi access to intenet Radio

ability to record to external SD card

            ability to read .pdf files

ability to edit the file name — would be nice after a voice recording

a calendar with sync ability and contact list (names, numbers)

I have been asking for a user swappable battery for a long time. It isn’t just for when a battery wears out, but to give the ability to carry spare batteries and never run out of power.

1.) This is possible and you may see it soemday. Othes have also requested this feature. But saying that you X-years old player had this won’t cut any ice. I used to have a car that would survive a 10 mile an hour fender-bender without a scratch. Now they’re totaled at half that speed.

2nd 1.) This just ain’t ever gonna happen. The last Sansa that had a replaceable battery was the e200 series. Quite simply it is cheaper to produce one that doesn’t, and that’s the bottom line as they say. Fewer parts, fewer steps in manufacturing.

And there are many more ecologically responsible alternatives to throwing it in the landfill. Besides, by the time the Li-Poly battery in your Fuze gives out, you’ll most likely be ready for another larger, faster, souped-up model anyway.

just do what i started doing, buy a player from besbuy, get the gadgets warr, when the warr is about up, take it in with some problem, and pick a new player as replacement, when my t10(samsung) died, i got my 2nd fuze, my first fuze came from my u3 that died(washer ride…worked for a day then vol buton stuck on vol down :S)

the t10 batt started to get low on life, then the player just acted weird and wouldnt read play lists anymore, so off it went, the bestbuy employees dont care, take the device cable, some crappy phones, and you can exchange it for whatever you choose thats in the same price range as what you bought

Thank you so much for doing your part in jacking up the prices on everything for everybody! You & everyone else that practices this ‘exchange at your own whim’ mentality forces retailers to boost their prices at least 10% to compensate for unscrupulous customers & thieves.

why would a player have an alarm if it does not have a inbuilt speaker?  while u sleep, u keep ur headphones in the ear? :))

Simple…  you plug it into speakers.  My Cowon works great as an alarm clock.  It’s a feature I would

gladly pay for.
