Loading the wrong firmware on the player is a possible cause of this error. It is possible that your player may be a different model than the Rhapsody version. Check the back panel on the bottom right and verify that it says 'E280r' and not 'E280' or 'E280v2'

I would try loading the mi4 file onto the player one more time. If it still occurs after that you should probably call 866-SANDISK.
