●Very easy to use Rockbox installer for the e250, e260, e270, and e280 Sansa media players (version 1's).
●Now gives the option of having either SanDisk, or Rockbox firmware as primary (boots first).
●Rockbox comes with Doom including the counter-strike/twilight add-on's, a number of great looking themes, and much more.
●If, after installing, you decide you don't like Rockbox, just run "uninstall.bat", which is located in the root folder of your Sansa.

Rockbox is neither created nor endorsed by SanDisk. Any "bricking" or malfunctioning of the device (while trying to install Rockbox) can be deemed irreplaceable. Firstly, thank you both for your contributions to the Sansa Community. To avoid any further escalation of the situation, I have moved Enzoten's post to a new thread. Any user wanting to find such information can come to keyword searches. We can keep this sticky for this specific Rockbox version.

Well, I think it is at least SanDisk's responsibility to supply Rockbox developers with information about the v2 hardware.

It was SanDisk who sold totally different hardware under identical names and with nearly indistinguishable packaging ...

As I see on http://daniel.haxx.se/sansa/v2.html, the Firmware File Format would be a nice start.

Please be aware that Rockbox only offers support for Rockbox when installed via the official instructions as in the Rockbox manual, and using the official bootloader and builds as available on the Rockbox website. Should you use this installer to install Rockbox along with the modified bootloader, you are liable to not receive any support from Rockbox.  We would encourage people to read the Rockbox manual and use the official installers - there is now a nice gui installer, that whilst still under development works quite nicely.  And if course if there is a problem, it is supported.
