Make the artist alphabetical

Okay so if you have bands/artist beginnining with “The” for example “The Rolling Stones”. On the fuze it doesn’t put it in the “R” section with all the other “R” artist. It puts it with the “T” artist and that annoys me so much.

How do I fix this.

All the Fuze can do is read the tags–the electronic labels that are part of your mp3 files. It’s not smart enough to understand what The is.

So change the tags. The fastest way to do that is with mp3tag. It’s free.

When you install it, let it add itself to context menus (a choice during install).

After installing, give it Fuze-loving settings. Under Tools/Options/Tags/Mpeg go to Write and choose ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1.

Now go to your Rolling Stones album folder, right-click on it and choose mp3tag to open it. There are your songs. Highlight them all and on the left, change the Artist line from The Rolling Stones to Rolling Stones. Under File on the upper left, Save that. It should be done in a few seconds.

Another thing you might want to do, while you’re fixing the tags, is to use the Auto-Numbering Wizard. Make sure the songs are listed in playing order, top to bottom, highlight them all and go to Tools/Auto-Numbering Wizard. Pick “Leading Zeroes” to change the track numbers to 01, 02, 03, the way the Fuze likes them best.
