I understood you to say the unit was turned on after you retrieved it from the water…and you were happy that it worked.
Nothing to lose but the effort. You can still use the rice after you try it for the drying process!
I’d suspect a much better chance of a good outcome had it NOT been powered on after it got wet…but, who knows. It might work.
