Not certain how to resolve this issue. “Restore” seems to help but only temporarily. I do not use for anything but listening to library books. Have checked with Media Overdrive and reloaded the books but that has not resolved issue.
If nothing else can be figured out, a reformat of the player under its System settings sometims can help–but note, this will erase your content on the player, so transfer it to your computer first. A manual reapplication of the firmware (see the firmware upgrade sticky thred at the top of the forum) sometimes also can help.

Probably won’t be able to do this, as the files themselves are DRM-crippled. Most likely will have to re-download them through Overdrive.

Thank you for you addition. I just wanted the OP to be aware of this issue, before reformatting–and handling the issue however it can be handled.
