sansa clip menu

I am new to all this and have downloaded audio book form library to computer and from computer to Sansa Clip.  The sansa turns on and I can hear music but I cannot get any menu.  All that is shown is the picture of headphones and the word "music.  I press the button which I though would breing up a menu  but can get nothing but what I described above

I must be doing something stuid…WHat???

Peel the protective screen sticker off.

There’s a little tab at the bottom of the screen sticker, to help peel it off. And don’t worry about this–it has happened to lots of people.
