We just bought two Sandisk sansa clip+ players for our kids. We would like to change the name of these players so we can recognise them seperately when they are both plugged in our PC simultaneously. Currently both have the following names: SANSA clip+ 4GB. I tried changing the name of the players into our kids names in Windows. However, when unplugged and then again plugged in, the name changes back to SANSA clip+ 4 GB. I searched for an .inf-file where I could change the Label. However, could not find any. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.
I just tried changing mine. There seems to be a limit on the length of the name, but it did hold the new name.
Go to Settings/System Settings/USB Mode and put it in MSC. Then connect it and change the name–maybe your kid’s initials to keep the new name short.
