Sansa Clip+ WILL NOT HOLD CHARGE!

Here’s a typical scenario for me lately: charge clip+ for a couple hours before bed and reach full battery life. Wake up, get ready to work out, turn clip+ on, work out for 45 minutes and then the player is dead in the middle of my workout due to complete battery drain. What is happening?? It used to run for hours and hours. I do have the player rockboxed, but it has worked flawlessly for months and up until this point I had sworn by these mp3 players – bought them and recommend them to countless others. It’s like out of nowhere it stopped holding charge. What is the deal? What can I do?

By any chance, are you still under warranty?  If so, I would contact SanDisk (telephone is best) and see about a warranty replacement.  It sounds like an electronics issue, unfortunately.

I should still be under warranty, the problem is that I have no receipt or anything, so I’m SOL for that. Are there any other possible solutions? Times are tough financially, I’d hate to have to go buy another MP3 player if this one is fixable.

Not necessarily. In some cases, the receipt is not necessary. They’ll probably ask you for the serial number though. This is located underneath the clip on the back.

I suggest calling them to see if they can help you. It doesn’t cost anything, and you have nothing to lose.
