THe only problem is the quality of sound, wihich ■■■■■. I bought Sony earphones and then it’s much better. But still not the quality as my built in MP3-player on the K800i SonyEricsson phone…
About the FM radio: there is no radio built in in the Sansa Clip version. So the information stated here above is not as accurate as you thought it would be!
If you Clip has charged for at least 3 hours and it still turns off when unplugged fromt he computer, then you may want to reload firmware and see if this helps. FIRMWARE THREAD
If the device continues to shut off, then you may want to contact Technical Support and request an RMA.
I need a general plain English step 1, 2, 3, etc. Right now my Sansa Clip is plugged into the computer. It says connected and has a picture of a computer and Sansa Clip with back and forth arrows. In the upper right hand corner of the screen it has a battery heart beat that stays at about 3/4. How do I know it’s ready to unplug and what do I do next?
Dude, you have to give it a little time on a product forum. Plus you buried your question in this thread titled “General info”.
The battery meter when charging, pulses from the current level of charge to the max. So if it’s completely dead, you see the bar filling from left to right. If it’s half charged, it starts in the middle. If it’s fully charged, you get a solid bar.

During all those hours, the first page of this thread has it all: you can simply download the Sansa Clip User Guide, sit back, and read all about using your Clip, with color diagrams too.
The forum is quite helpful, but it is NOT an instant chat. For someone to help, you must open a new message with an appropriate title, or ask a question within an appropriate thread.
If you select FM, you are enabling another device within the wee Clip. It does not draw very much additional current. I have enjoyed the FM for many hours, without noting a significant increase in battery use.
Note that the FM mode is continuous, unlike selecting a group of mp3/wma files. With digital media, the Clip shuts down after ending playback if you enable auto power mode. The FM will play until the cows come home. There is a cool sleep timer, though.
Thanks, but how many hours does the Clip work using continuous FM receiving? How long-lasting is it? You know, turn it on in FM mode, with full batt, 'til it turns off when batt is too low.
I don’t have a means of comparing current draw (no open Clips on hand), but playing FM all day doesn’t deplete the battery much faster than listening on the digital side.
Sansafix may have the actual draw figures, but I’d venture that if you add in the factor of volume level settings, you can enjoy the FM or digital equally without having to fret about battery depletion. The wee beastie will most certainly play all day long.
Are you saying the headphones that came with the clip ■■■■ or the sound of the clip ■■■■■? If it’s the latter, how much better is your Sony Ericcson cell phone sound compared to this? I thought the sound quality on the clip was supposed to be really good? That’s why I want one…if it’s not? A voice recorder is cool too though.

I recently purchased the 4GB clip model. I have successfully download music to it and fully charged it a couple times now. Last night the unit just quit. No power. No connection registers on the computer. Nothing.
