How To Transfer CD To Sansa Clip

Hi,

I would like to know how to get my CDs onto the Clip.

Do I need a special program to convert the cds to mp3? If so, what do you recommend?

Thank you!

Yes.  Windows Media Player will do it (although I prefer other programs, which I am sure others will recommend).  I use and like CDex (free and freely available on the web), as it gives me greater control of settings–but it has a learning curve to set up.

Or  use EAC.
There is a nice, athough a little old, guide on the misticriver forum here:

The fastest way would be to put the Clip into MSC mode and then rip the CD right to the Clip.  Using MediaMonkey (http://www.mediamonkey.com/), you’d just right click on the CD drive shown in MediaMonkey, select “Rip Audio CD”, and then change the destination to be the drive letter of your Clip.

Or you could rip them to one of your MediaMonkey monitor folders, so they’re on your PC’s disk.  Soon after, MediaMonkey will display them in its library list, though you may have to do a refresh.  Then drag-and-drop to your Clip shown in MediaMonkey, or use the sync feature.

Thank you guys for your suggestions and information. I will have to look into these different programs.

Do you know if any of these programs will convert CD music (.cda) to mp3 if I wanted to do that?

Thanks again for all the help

Most popular music management programs rip to MP3, including MediaMonkey and Windows Media Player.

Just follow this and you’ll be able to rip your music from your CD
