Setting up a new SSD? Need advice.[ Edited ]Options
05-26-2012 05:35 AM - edited 05-27-2012 02:05 PM Hi,
Newbie question coming. I have just fitted my SSD to my Windows XP setup, it has been recognized okay, do I need to do anything to it other than format it? Whilst researching SSD's I came across a few instances of people saying that you had to set a drive offset to compensate for the MBR, how would I do that?
Thanks
Gerald

05-29-2012 09:13 AM for best performacen you will need to align the drive. XP does not support SSD drive alignment. There are tools out there that will do it for you just search SSD drive alignment tool. That said you will not be able to benifeit from many of the features of SSD in XP. I would suggest using a more modern OS like Win 7. |
