My sandisk ultra 3.0 out of 16gb it is showing only 14.4 gb as usage space help me

Dear Sandisk,

can i know why my sandisk ultra is showing 14.4 gb as usage space as im losing 1.6 gb please say how to recover or should i replace this product.

This is due to formatting. All storage devices have less usable storage space than the raw capacity after formatting.

Data storage companies decided early on that all their products should be marketed in the decimal system. Our computers work on base 2 (binary) number system rather than the decimal system.

Therefore, one megabyte on their products is equal to 1,000,000 bytes, and one gigabyte is equal to 1,000,000,000 bytes. To a computer, however, a megabyte is 1,048,576 bytes and a gigabyte is 1,073,741,824 bytes.

My Silicon Power Helios 101 and Ultima U03 drives all show up as 14.4GB usable. (i know this is a sandisk forum im sorry)
