SSD Freeze Windows 7

Hi,

I Bought : SanDisk SSD Ultra Plus 128 Go

Problem is I have a freeze screen sometimes (no mouse anymore, no access to my keyboard, CTRL + ALT + SUPR not working). Only one way is to make a savage reboot.

I tried to install SanDisk SSD Toolkit. I made a bootable USB. When I restart the system, the boot USB detect the SSD. And finally, it detetec the SSD with the upgrade available but when I put YES on the upgrade of the SSD. It is just put a message “Failed to upgrade”

Any solution to avoid the Windows 7 freeze problem with SSD ?

Thanks

Information with SanDisk SSD Toolkit:

Model: SanDisk SDSSDHP128G

SN: 133647400193

Firmware revizion: 0956

Select your Firmware Upgrade:

I have got only one choice => X2316RL

It seems there may be an issue writing to the area where the FW is stored. It would be a long shot but if you have another PC you could try the update from there. If it fails as well the SSD would need to be replaced.

The FW version should not be what you have listed. Can you post a screen shot of the SSD toolkit Drive info page?

Thanks

the FW thread shows they are having some issues on some systems updating. They have rolled back to X2306RL. Can you try updating to that one?

I just download:

http://drivers.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownload.php?p=245373&t=0&i=1

I think it is X2306RL

So after try it, still not working => Same message " Failed to upgrade"

I checked also one another thing on my Bios setup. I am on AHCI protocol set up.

I have been experienced the same problem in Windows for a year. Hdd write led blinks during the frozen times.

Solution is simple. Disable Windows auto TRIM function. If you don’t know how to disable it, download SanDisk SSD Dashboard. It is realy simple.
