Re: SanDisk SecureAccess (Password and encryption software)

[ Edited ]

Ahh haa - so that's the problem.

Too bad that it has to be in details view.  I have another thumb that is PW protected (I think it's Memorex) and once opened it looks just like an unprotected thumb - complete with pic files with thumbnails.  The only downfall of that flash drive is that it takes quite some time to open as it unprotects the contents.

Is TruCrypt the same (details)?

How do I remove the PW from the flash?

I had the same message.  Unplug the drive from the front of your computer and plug it in a port in the back of your computer.  It works.

Don't know that there is a way. It wouldn't be very secure if there was a way to hack around the password feature and gain entry, now would it?

Hi,

Same post from other thread but I think this is better place for this issue.

On my pc/netbook with windows 7 64-bit SP1 i`ve got command :Please run SanDisk Secure Access from a SanDisk external device" On pc with windows XP i don`t have this error. This error command i have since last update of Secure Access. I try with fresh downloaded version of secure access, chkdsk, other USB (2.0 and 3.0) and still doesn`t work.

Did you install it (from the download link in the1st post of this thread)? It doesn't automatically come on the drives.

If you're worried about losing your data, copy (or move) it back to your computer while you install the Secure Access software (although it should be backed up there anyway; you never want to trust only 1 copy of files, etc. to a portable flash drive). Then copy it back to the drive afterwards.

Re: SanDisk SecureAccess (Password and encryption software)

Sorry to say:

This is totally bad software::smileyfrustrated:

  1.  when saving data  you cannot access it  (only read only)  and you have to put it in an unsave place first to access it again.
  2.  You can SEE the secure mappings and files  (luckely you cannot open it from there)  BUT you can DELETE it ???? This is NOT secure!!  because someone CAN easely delete ALL  your secure???? data.!!!!

Sorry for ranting  (it is free software!!!)  But from a company as SANDISK  you dont expect this.  (...........SHAMEDISK):smileyembarrassed:

Does someone know software wich is secure and easy to use??

With regards

Nico

Re: SanDisk SecureAccess (Password and encryption software)

Have to agree with last poster.

How difficult can it be to provide the option of a simple password-protected USB (which is all most of us need or want) with the ability to edit documents and not have to drag them outside, save them, and put them back in.  Ridiculous.
