I have a regular thumb drive (NOT SanDisk) with folders of pictures on it. When I open it up it shows all the files and each file has the first two pictures to indicate what is within. When I open a file is then shows all the pictures.
When I drag n drop these files into the SanDisk it shows the file name, no thumb nails and when opened no pictures, just the picture name, if I open a picture name, it reads that it is read only and must be opened to be viewed.
This makes it very hard to see and open a particular picture.
I want it to be just like my old thumb.

this is determined by the operating system not the usb drive. depending what operating system you are using there should folder view options where you can change the setting.
here is a video that explaines how to change the setting in win 7

I tried doing this on a computer w/windows 7 and then tried it on another computer w/vista. They both ended up with just the basic name of the picture and no thumbnails available.
Somewhere in here I should be able to change what format goes into the SanDisk.
I would think that I could just drag the entire old thumb into my new SanDisk and see exactly the same thing.

again this is the setting of the OS it has nothing to do with the storage device. you will have to make the changes on every OS you insert it to.

I'm using the same OS when I transfer the pics. I'm actually dragging over pics, not files/details into the vault. Then when I open the vault pics they're in detail format on same computer, same OS.
I will go into the view aspect today to confirm. Just figured if ALL my pics open as pictures on this computer the SD's would as well.

I watched this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-AJJLdG8Aw
Did it all and no joy.
NOW, if the vault itself had a view option-that would be the way, alas, no.

i must have missed somenting in your post. if you are using the secure access application details view is the only view available. if you dont need password protection you do not have to use secureaccess you can just use USB drive as a normal storage device then the windows settings apply.
