As far as I know, the above information is incorrect. Everything I can find online seems to indicate that Vista does not support TRIM at all. Does anyone have a link to a document that shows that Vista does indeed support TRIM?
That being said, I think you can manually run TRIM on your SSD with the drive manufacturer’s diagnostic/management software.
Only thing I can tell you is if you “upgrade” the operating system to Windows 7 or above, the TRIM feature will be automatically enabled. I am going to do that very soon because Microsoft will no longer support Windows Vista after April, 2017.
