I've got a SD6SB1M-064G-1022I with 2155 hours on it that's taken to dropping offline after being powered up for 3-4 days
The only thing which brings it back is power cycling which is "Not good" in a 24*7 server environment (It's half of a RAID1 set, so going down isn't catastrophic, but still not nice.)
OS is linux, not that it should make any difference in this setup.
SMARTCTL shows no errors
5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0032 100 100 --- Old_age Always - 0
169 Total_Bad_Block 0x0032 100 100 --- Old_age Always - 120
230 Perc_Write/Erase_Count 0x0032 100 100 --- Old_age Always - 2906
It's reporting itself as hot (50C), but the drive case is only slightly warm to touch and it has a fan blowing directly over it so I'm not sure what's going on there.
FW is X230600
It was brought through a distributor. In this case I'm the OEM.
Any ideas why it's dropping out and what I can do?
Thanks in advance.

this drive you are using in a server is not qualified for this usage so i would suggest removing the drive from the server raid system and use a higher quality drive or even the specialized enterprise products that sandisk has released.
so in that case i suggest using the drive with a normal pc enviroment and not in a 24-7 one.

A drive which drops offline for no apparent reason isn't fit for purpose. This is a home system and not under high load and there are any number of reasons why I or anyonr else may choose to leave _my_ computer running 24*7
Your advice is reminiscent of the bad old days of the IBM Deathstars - a drive which damaged IBM's reputation so badly they exited the business - and it was only when Hitachi inherited the firmware that they discovered they had a 49-day bug in the firmware.
A computer is not a toy. Turning it off and back on again is never the correct solution, it's a last resort, despite what a certain toy company in Redmond may have conditioned people into believing.
If this is the Official Sandisk response then I'll forward it to tech media for commentary.
