Tips for a first time SSD user

Just got a SanDisk Extreme 240GB, my first SSD ever.

I’ll be doing a fresh install of Windows 7 in the next day or two, but I’m still reading about the do’s and don’ts of SSDs.

Already have AHCI enabled on my SATA controller, and I know how to verify if TRIM is enabled. I also read that  Windows 7 should disable defrag, superfetch, and readyboost when it detects an SSD is installed.

Now, some things I’m still not clear on -

Pagefile - Should it be kept on the SanDisk Extreme or moved to my secondary drive (Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 7200RPM)? Or deleted altogether, like I’ve seen some websites suggest? (I have 8GB system RAM)

System Restore - Should I disable it?

Write Caching - Disable?

Also, please let me know if there is anything else I should or shouldn’t do before installation. Thanks!

All you need to do it what you are already aware of. Pagefile, system restore, and write caching may help a little but not worth bothering with in my opinion.
