Freeing up Space

When I delete files from my Wireless Connect by dragging them to Trash on my Macbook, they disappear, but the free space remains unchanged, preventing me from adding additional files. I know if I reformat that will fix the problem, but I dont want to do that as I will lose the other files on the disc. Can anyone help?

I think I have solved it myself, but in case others are unaware…

after dragging unwanted files to Trash, you must also delete them from Trash. Even if you remove yr wireless stick and reconnect, the deleted files (and their space) are still somewhere on the flashdisc until the Trash is emptied, I guess…

Yes, when using a Mac, you must empty the Trash before disconnecting. Otherwise, the only thing that is deleted is the path to the files, not the files themselves.
