I just downloaded from the same link and installed it no problem on my media drive. are you trying to open the .img file on the PC? If so you do not open the file on the PC. you just copy it to the media drive then start the upgrade from inside the app.
also what browser are you using to download the file? Some browsers security settings or antivirus may be damaging the .img file.
