I think the Power Saver kicks in when the player is inactive but still turned on. I think it is a kind of Fail-Safe option to avoid running down the battery ?? I keep the Power Saver set to 5 min on my Clip Sports.
I really enjoy using the Sleep mode (I set to 20 or 30 mins). This feature turns the player off if it is playing any audio.
