purchased 4 gb clip sport mp3 player in Dec '16. Charged it and put a couple of songs on it. Didn’t use it until jan 14th. Device is dead. Wont recharge (at least display doesn’t show recharge icon}.Is there some trick to getting it up and running? It was a gift to my partner, and she’s very disappointed.

Connect the player via the micro USB cable to a charging source (computer USB port or 1 amp charging block).
Then press the large middle button for 20 secs.
Then release. If the player does not come on, press the middle button again for 1-2 secs.
Should work. Then see if the device needs charging.
