MobileMate MS+ Crashes MacBook Pro on Eject

I just purchased a MobileMate MS+ memory stick reader. My memory stick loads and I can download photos, BUT everytime I click the eject button in the finder or in the iPhoto app so I can safely remove the device, my MacBook crashes. I have to hold down the power key and restart. HELP!!!
