I have three 4GB Extreme III CF cards. One of them has an oval graphic saying “ESP Technology”, and the other two say “30MB/s” in place of the esp graphic. What is the difference between them? Is one type newer/faster than the other?
ESP = Enhanced Super Parallel. This is how the controller processes the data and writes it to the card. all sandisk Extreme cards use it it is just not printed on the new cards. the 30MB/s cards are the newest and the old card with the ESP logo are 20MB/s cards.
