SanDisk Ultra PC Card Adapter is ReadyBoost compatible

Is anybody try to use SanDisk Ultra PC Card Adapter with Extreme CompactFlash memory to support ReadyBoost?? Card speed seems to be enough and what about Reader?

Where I can find any information about max speed of this reader?

It probably will not work.  The speed of the card is not the issue, it is the speed of a 16 Bit PCMCIA bus.  Very slow.  The theoretical maximum is less than 10 MB/s and the real world speeds are far below that I am sure.

READYBOOST Requirements:

  • The capacity of the *device must be at least 256 MB (250 after formatting).
  • The *device should have an access time of 1 ms or less.
  • The *device must be capable of 2.5 MB/s read speeds for 4 KB random reads spread uniformly across the entire device and 1.75 MB/s write speeds for 512 KB random writes spread uniformly across the device.
  •

*device pertains to Flashdrive & bus, if we are refering to reader & card & bus, we will take into consideration the maximum speed attainable by the combination.

ALSO, fuzzy is right, PCMCIA bus is too slow.
