can i recover deleted files from a U3 drive

i was updating my U3 software, it was backin the files on to my machine but then failed and has deleted all of my files. Can i recover the files that were transfered onto the the machine at that time?

As long as password protection is not enabled youo can try some recovery softwares from the internet.

The same exact thing just happened to me last night.  I chose to back the files up during the upgrade, but it completed the instalation and said "unable to backup files" and then it was done.  They are gone.  Please let me know if you find or have found anything to recover your files.
