Hello, I need your help, i have windows 8, Dell haptop, i changed my password.i know it but it won’t let me log in even when i use my old one. Many sites said that I need to make a USB bootable passwrod reset disk and remove the password protection on my Dell laptop, I have a Kingston USB flash with 8GB and I crated a USB drive successfully with Windows password recovery, but the problem is that I don’t know how to let my Dell laptop boot from USB flash, any suggestion?
what password reset createor did you use? There are many password reset creator program out there, most of them are not safe, they may damge to your system files and let you boot your computer from hard drive. Be careful!
It’s been a long time since I’ve had to do it, so my memory might be wrong, but if you press the F8 key when booting up, doesn’t it give you bootable options where you can select the flash drive to boot from?
No, it’s F2.
Follow below steps to change the boot order:
Restart the computer and tap F2 on Dell logo.
Under” BOOT” Option ensure Boot list option is set to “Legacy”.
Now scroll down to 1st Boot Priority and change it to CD/DVD/CD-RW and 2nd Boot priority to Hard drive.
Hit F10 to “Save” the settings and then Exit.
I treid your method and entered the BISO, but i don’t know why my Windows password recovery didn’t loads, did you know why?

In my Dell Inspiron laptop, the key is F12 to bring up the boot menu for selecting a boot media or entering into BIOS. If you can’t see your attached USB flash drive, you need to enter into BIOS: disable Secure Boot Control and disable UEFI boot mode.
Regards to password reset, you can use Windows installation disc & sticky keys trick:
have you treid some free windows password rest tool which supports USB 2.0 and support UEFI BIOS, like ntpassword, passfolk saverwin…i used it to remove my admin password but not sure if it works for you.
By the way, what antivirus can you recommend for the latest version of Windows?
I used Norton, but I did not like it. And judging by the rating, the positions are not too good. What do you think about Kaspersky?
