Connect Recovery Tool

I was looking around, and either the Recovery Tool has been moved, or removed… in any case I’m just going to link the download here from a file hosting site.

How long doesit take for the recovery process when using the recovery tool on a sansa connect?

Yeah, I just noticed that too.  Not good news.  I did find this, but I’m not sure it’s the same thing:

By the way, I get a “file not found” on your link.

From SanDisk:

I apologize for the inconvenience the Sandisk website is currently being updated. You can download the Sansa Recovery tool on the link below.

This site http://mp3support.sandisk.com/tools/DeviceRecoverySetup.exe  works for the recovery but takes off the WiFi icon.  Now I can no longer listen to the internet station.  How can I get this back on my device?

You may not have the right version of the recovery tool, I think there are still several out there.  Use this one:

http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/863

Also, if you have a 64-bit system, the recovery tool won’t work on it.

Finally, if you have Vista, you may have to run the tool from an Administrator account.

There are several other threads in these boards mentioning getting the same DPInsp error that you got.  Some may have other clues as to what you can do.  Search for 2147483648 (omit the minus sign before the number).
