Unable to have a Sandisk Cruz glide 32gb be recognized on a vista machine

I have spent months trying to get the USB flash drive recognized on this machine.

It is recognized on other laptops so the problem is not my flash drive.

It shows a san disk cruz in disks but also has an unknown device under the device manager.

This unknown device seems to be missing a device driver.

It is not a drive letter assignment issue

I saw somewhere where there was a suggestion to remove a vid entry in the HKLM current set…

can anyone give me details to know which entry (VID) to delete?

Any other suggestions ?

Hello,

in that case i suggest the following, just try to manually update the USB drivers on your vista system to ensure that everything is up to date and if that does not help try contacting microsoft to see if they can provide you the drivers that need to be installed in order to use the flash drive on this computer as well.

i would not recommend messing with the registry entries since it can damage the whole oparating system.
