Sandisk Ultra Fit 3.1(adverted and actual size GB)

[ Edited ]

<If there is similar subject thread already post, please provide link.>

Sandisk Ultra Fit 3.1 USB Stick (big difference adverted and actual size GB)

Subject: what is your actual real size GB?

Intro:

I have several (8) usb sticks collected over past the years (having different adverted sizes).

All the time the actual (real) size is according within the standard margin.

Example 1:

I own a 64GB (adverted) Kingston usb stick, having real size 58.5 GB.

You might expect to get +/-:  64 000 000 000 bytes / (1024*1024*1024) = 59.60 GB

What I got actual size     +/-:  62 895 000 000 bytes / (1024*1024*1024) = +/- 58.50 GB

Example 2:

I own a 128GB (adverted) Lexar usb stick, having real size  119.2 GB.

You might expect to get +/-:  128 000 000 000 bytes / (1024*1024*1024) = 119.2 GB

What I got actual size     +/-:  128 000 000 000 bytes / (1024*1024*1024) = +/- 119.2 GB

Example 3:

I own a 32GB (adverted) Sandisk usb stick, having real size 29.7 GB.

You might expect to get +/-:  32 000 000 000 bytes / (1024*1024*1024) = 29.8 GB

What I got actual size     +/-:  31 997 000 000 bytes / (1024*1024*1024) = +/- 29.7 GB

Sandisk Ultra Fit 3.1 256 GB Example:

Recently I bought from Amazon a Sandisk Ultra Fit 3.1 256GB.

You might expect to get +/-:  256 000 000 000 bytes / (1024*1024*1024) = 238.4 GB

What I got actual size     +/-:  246 00 000 000 bytes / (1024*1024*1024) = +/- 229.1 GB

As you see, my Ultra Fit 3.1 is like 9 GB less in actual size than it should be.

I did format in FAT/NTFS, but it still remain 229.1 GB in my Win 10 64 bit OS.

Also, I did not observe any hidden files.

Question 1:

Can anyone please provide screenshot and/or text of his/her Sandisk Ultra Fit 3.1 adverted size and real size?

Question 2:

If my Sandisk Ultra Fit 3.1 256 GB seems to have signficantly less than it should be, shall I return back to get money back (because of possible manufacturing error or something related)?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Return it to where you bought it, don't tell them you formated it, and buy something else.
