SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive not accessible In windows 7

Dear Concern,

I am having a problem with my SanDisk Ultra Cruzer 64GB flash drive. In response to your 3 questions:

  1. It works in my office Desktop just fine. When I try it in my Laptop Lenovo Thinkpad T410, the Install hardware can’t find the driver.

  2. Not sure about the BIOS.

  3. It shows up in Device Manager under “Other device” SanDisk Ultra, with a big yello question mark next to it. The comment is that there is no driver.

I have looked for a driver to download for this flash drive but can’t find one. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Adrian

the drive is native to the OS or at least it should be. There is not really a download for the standard USB driver since it should be native to the OS.

In device manager right click the USB drive and select update driver. Let it search the Internet for the driver. it should find the standard MSC driver on line. if not right click and select update drive then select choose from a list. If you have the standard MSC driver that is the one you will want to use.

Dear Brother,

Thanks for your response. I’ve tried to do as per your direction but it was failed. I mentioned the below error info.

In device manager my Flash Dive shwing under “Other Device > SanDisk Ultra” option

1 way error :Windows was unable to install your SanDisk Ultra

Windows could not find driver software for your device.

If you know the manufacture of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software.

2 way Error : Device driver software was not successfully installed.

Kindly help me to solve this issue so that I can use my new USB Flash Drive.

Dear Brother,

Thanks for your response but I didn’t find driver for my lattop model. Please help me.

   Hi GomesAM,

Also, see: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=21129

Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller: 1.0.10.255, February 2014.

To install from a Web download, you will download either a ZIP file or an EXE file from the Web.

1-    If it is an EXE file, double-click the file you downloaded and specify a location into which the driver files will be extracted.

Click “Unzip” and the files will extract. Click “OK” on the next window, then click “Close”.

2-   If it is a ZIP file, double-click the file you downloaded and choose “Extract all files”.

Next, browse to a destination folder in which the files can be placed and choose “Extract”.

3-   Read file “Readme. txt”, of the ZIP file or the web.

Luck.

Dear Brother,

Thanks for your response. I’be download this but while I’m going to install this time this error msg showing " This computer dose not meet the minimum requirements for instaling this software"

I’m using Lenovo Think Pad T410, Windows 7 professtional , Service pack - 1,

please provide the wayout

   Hi GomesAM,

[ I’m using Lenovo Think Pad T410, Windows 7 professional , Service pack 1, ]

Well friend, what happens: is that not have port USB 3.0…

ThinkPad T410, ThinkPad T410i, ThinkPad T410s and ThinkPad T410si.

Only, USB ports version 2.0, and eSATA/USB combo port.

-   Try also, in the laptop, a USB 2.0 pendrive, and see what happens.

_ - _  Then, see again the post #2 and also see: http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10

_ - _  If the above steps have not solved the problem, please, for more certainty and for other ideas, also you can send the question to the Support Team: http://kb.sandisk.com/app/ask/

Luck, and then you tell us, what happened, please.

Regards, Alfred.                                                            (Google translated)

Hi Gomes, have you tried a full Windows update yet? If not, please do so. As far as I know, flash drives currently would just use the OS preloaded drivers.

Dear Cacho,

Thanks for response. Yes my laptop USB ports version 2.0 but its its USB 3 compitable as I’m using WD latest USB 3.0 portable hardware. As per your guideline I’ve tried to but not working. please advice.

Dear rhodesv,

My windows is update every time automatically. so please advice

In device manager right click it and click uninstall when it is plugged in

Then rescan for hardware changes and it should work. (It wont have the yellow exclamation mark next to it)

Then it should work, if not try using diskpart, if you do not know how to use it search it on internet

Its not working and I’m able to do Diskpart… any other way please

   Hi GomesAM,

Friend, other ideas…

- [ It works in my office Desktop just fine]

- [  …I’m using WD latest USB 3.0 portable hardware, in the laptop, (just fine).  ]

- [  …My windows is update every time automatically. ]

Well,

1-   In the Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Event Viewer: see if there is information on this item.

2-   See also, in the Task Manager, the processes which are running, and see what are the necessary and what to delete.

Because, there are some services programs, telephones and video cameras, that cause system conflicts, by interference in USB ports, such as: Samsung Kies, HTC Sync, Sony Play Memories, Motorola, etc.

3-   There might be a conflict between drive letters being used: http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8482

Also, with the tool (portable app, free): USB Flash DriveLetter 1.30, http://filecloud.io/vgqzcdyh

4-   Maybe what happens, is that there a corrupt line in the registry/USB, that detects this UFD as “problematic”.

Then with the tool (portable app, free): USB Flash Deview 2.30, http://filecloud.io/srp2hegw

5-   Also, the intensive use of USB ports, generates “USB junk” in the registry.

Then, to clean easier the “USB junk”, you can use the tool (portable app, free):  USB Scrub Cleans 1.00, http://filecloud.io/aikrqsoz

Luck, and then you tell us, what happened, please.
