SanDisk Extreme 3.0 64GB only works in 2.0

It used to work all the time. Then only on some computers. Now it doesn’t work at all in USB 3.0 ports on all computers.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time.

This may help. Cacho’s posting may help.

You gave me a link to a solution that says ‘install usb drivers’

You did not have to waste your time copying and pasting a link in this thread pretentiously assuming that I don’t have the drivers installed.

I have a USB 3.0 CF Card Reader that works just fine through USB 3.0.

The link your have provided suggests to check the ports on my PC.

Thanks for the advice, but I have a USB 3.0 CF Card Reader that works just fine on all my ports.

The link your have provided suggests to check the ports on my PC.

And on the Extreme.

Maybe your “USB 3.0 CF Card Reader that works just fine on all my ports” is conflicting with your Extreme 3.0.

Let us know if you find a solution to the problem.

Card reader is not interfering. Tried the USB drive without it connect. No Dice.

Maybe a wiring problem in the case, maybe a power supply problem, maybe a low voltage house circuit, maybe…

Hard to determine.  Sorry.

The wiring in the case is fine. Other USB 3.0 devices work.

The power supply is fine. Other USB 3.0 devices work.

The circuitry on my end is fine. The circuitry on the flash drive, however, may be failing. And I’m not the only one with one.

I tried it on several computers and it doesn’t work through USB 3.0. However, it stopped working on some computers then eventually all of them. I’ve searched around for a solution and found that other people are having similiar problems with this model.

Clearly the problem is with the manufacturing of the drive. USB 3.0 functionality seems to deterioriate over time for some reason.

I will attempt to have it replaced through warranty. Hopefully the new PRO versions don’t have this issue.
