Recover deleted files from Cruzer SecureAccess area

I was storing some important photos on my Cruzer 8GB in the SecureAccess bit.  I went to delete one of the folders but it seems all of them have been deleted as there are now no files displayed in the SecureAccess window.

Is there any way to recover the files and folders?  Any simple steps I can take, or any recovery software I can use that can look inside the encrypted bit of the drive?  Preferably free software, but I'm prepared to pay if there's something available that will definitely do it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A professional repair shop might be able to undelete the folder you deleted.  Short of that since the data is encrypted I can't think of any other way to recover your files.

In the future delete files not folders.  Smiley Wink

That looks like a nice app Pansys.  However there are many free apps that do the same thing.  For example:

http://www.scanwith.com/download/Recuva.htm

http://www.scanwith.com/download/FreeUndelete.htm

http://www.scanwith.com/download/Undelete_Plus.htm

Check them out and see what you think.  Smiley Wink

However, if you prefer paying for an app I think you should try the SanDisk RescuePRO app:

It's a little pricier than the app you suggested but not terribly so.

Thanks markwwills but for that price I would use the SanDisk RescuePRO app instead.

Re: Recover deleted files from Cruzer SecureAccess area

I had the same problem.
To avoid this, connect the camera with the USB cable supplied by the manufacturer. NEVER use the "Card Ports" in the computer.
Companies tend to create a different format on the SD cards not compatible with windows 100% and they vary by manufacturer.

If you have not taken new pictures, try this program Vibosoft Micrro SD Card Recovery, but use the cable for the camera and connect it to the USB port. http://www.vibosoft.com/disk-utility/retrieve-photos-from-formatted-micro-sd.html

Select the drive letter for that camera and wualla>>>> you?ll get your pictures.

The program cost 29 and change. But is worth it. I got back 235 pictures from my 1Gig SD card that got corrupted when I inserted the card in the computer. Good luck!

Did you try any of the FREE apps listed above before spending for the app you used?

Re: Recover deleted files from Cruzer SecureAccess area

my pendrive with VERY VERY SENSITIVE data in the 'Secure Access' area was stolen, is it possible that whoever is responsible can view my data? For example with the help of maybe repair shop people? Can the secure access area be hacked?

Re: Recover deleted files from Cruzer SecureAccess area

It depends on what you used for a password.  Password is common, as is F**kYou, your phone number, your address, your birthday, the name of your pet, girl friend, boy friend, car model.  Part of hacking your security is knowledge of you and your life.  So if the person who stole your drive is a complete stranger, they probably don't care about your files and will simply format the drive and sell it.  If the thief knows you and wants to know more about you then the question is how good a password did you use.

Re: Recover deleted files from Cruzer SecureAccess area

If your files are not found in the Recycle Bin, don't save or delete anything from your computer. Your chances of recovering the file are much higher if you don't save anything new in the system. This is because when a file is deleted, it is actually just set to be overwritten. If no new data has overwritten the original file, then it can usually be recovered.
