Extreme 64GB retracting slider stuck

I have an Extreme USB 3.9 64GB (sdcz80-064g) that has it’s retracting slide stuck closed. I can open it halfway, but not enough to use it. It has been looked after and shows no signs of damage. Any ideas on how to open it without breaking it?

Hello,

in that case the slider mechanism seems to be defective and the drive needs to be replaced. in that case you can contact the place of purchase for a replacement or contact the sandisk support directly

Well, with it between the closed position and the stuck position try blowing some compressed air into it.  Maybe a piece of sand or dust is stuck in it.  If that fails try spraying a little WD-40 in it.
