Can anybody help me - I have a Cruzer Orbit 8Gb flash drive and trying to reinstall windows 7 from it onto a efi laptop! The installation is asking for the CD/USB drivers which were obviously on the flash drive when i bought it. During the process of making the flash drive bootable, these have obviously been deleted. Can anyone tell me where I can get and how i can replace these drivers.
“drivers which were obviously on the flash drive when i bought it.”
Flash drives do not come with drivers on them. The drivers are part of the operating system and activated when the device is plugged in.
“During the process of making the flash drive bootable, these have obviously been deleted.”
The unknown process did something to make the flash drive unrecognized to the operating system your using. You should check with the boot process and see what it says about what it changes a flash drive to appear as. Obviously no longer as a standard flash drive. It’s also possible the unknown process corrupted the drive’s file system and it needs to be rerun.
FWIW I don’t think Windows 7 will boot on a EFI machine.
When Windows is asking for a driver for a specific hardware, there’s actually an option for you to search online. That is if, you got your internet connection working already.
