Sandisk Ultra Plus failing with asynch errors (Oracle)

I have set up a Sandisk Ultra Plus 256 GB SSD to store my Oracle database files. This isn’t the first time I’ve done this with an SSD, but the first time using the SanDisk brand. On four different PCs that I set this up, I keep getting errors that cause Oracle to quit (without even taxing the drive). These errors are as follows -

ORA-27070: async read/write failed
OSD-04006: ReadFile failure, unable to read from file
O/S-Error: OS 1117 The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

It happens randomly, sometimes when idle, other times when a query is started. Is the SanDisk having trouble keeping up with the requests, even during minimal usage?

The PC itself is a Dell T3600 6-core cpu with 32 GB memory, so I don’t think any of that is the bottleneck.

i would make sure i ahve the latest FW for the SSD installed and secure erase the SSD. if the errors continue the SSD may need to be replaced.
