Is there any chance my mp3 files could get screwed up in the process BlackRectangle??
If you format the card, the mp3 files will be erased from it. Make sure you have copies elsewhere.
I have run zillions of albums through mp3tag–Auto-Numbering Wizard, erase embedded art, Save (to ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1)–and it has never messed up the mp3 files. I usually do them on the computer before sending them over, but I have also done it while the card is in the unit.
Since the card is giving you so much trouble, it might be best to start afresh with a format.
BTW, I goofed earlier, thinking about my Sansa Fuze. The Clip obviously does not display art, so you don’t even need folder.jpg in the folders on the clip. (Though I leave it there for the copies in the computer.) Regardless, getting the embedded art out of individual tags will help a lot.
